The summer of '62 got off to a hot time in old Atlantic City when impresario Sid Bernstein presented the first AC Jazz Festival over the first 3 days of July at the old Warner Theater on the Boardwalk. For $2 to $5 dollars hipsters were treated to the heppest cats in jazz--Count Basie & his Orchestra, Joe Williams, Sarah Vaughn, Dinah Washington, Oscar Peterson, Cannonball Adderly, Dave Brubeck, Ray Charles, Lambert Hendricks & Ross and a few more. What a cool time it was!
